As a parent, I find myself constantly reflecting on the kind of world my children are growing up in. The internet, with all its benefits, comes with a darker side that we cannot ignore: the pervasive presence of sexual content. It’s not just the content itself that’s troubling; it’s the impact it can have on a child’s mind, shaping their perspectives in ways we’d never want. Viewing Women as Sex Objects One of the most damaging effects of exposure to sexual content is the normalisation of viewing women as mere sex objects. When children are repeatedly exposed to images or videos that reduce women to their physical appearance, they internalise these messages.
